SpicyKey has bestowed a gift unto the iOS users of the world who require tagging technology that has ascended to the next level, and it’s called TechCamera.

Why? Well, there are a lot of reasons to desire a way to tag photos quickly. Sometimes the day is extremely enjoyable and you don’t want to disrupt it, but also want to share on social media who you were with and where, so that those involved can connect to your updates in real time.

Other times might require a need to communicate exactly where you are to someone, so that they can come and give assistance as quickly as possible (for an injury or a spontaneous sinkhole emergency) and it can be difficult to communicate where the event has occurred.

Then, there are those times when you want to embarrass your friends as quickly and as thoroughly as possible, and upload a tag so that a handful of people can see them dancing in their underwear for five seconds. Of course, before they regain their senses and remove the tag … but generally, that gives you until the end of their rendition of the Electric Slide. Tagging can be a sluggish process when you want to put your phone back down and enjoy the scenery (or continue your laughing fit).

Taking a photo with the TechCamera app opens up a world of possibilities. Tagging, traditionally, has been about tagging people who were involved in the picture or event, or someone that you would like to see the photo.  But new date, time, and location tags are incredibly useful, and may serve a great aesthetic purpose.

“We added features to create tags fast, saving the user time by automatically setting up the tags for them,” said Amar Zumkhawala, owner of SpicyKey and creator of TechCamera. “For example, sports enthusiasts can capture photos with a stopwatch tag, showing the elapsed time to document a downhill skier or a marathon race.  A hiker can capture amazing photos tagged with location.”

The GPS coordinates tag is an impressive tool that can be utilized for travel purposes, tagging a special location at a special time, or even utilized for rescue workers to communicate the exact location and situation to bring in more assistance. Location-based tags can be as normalized as street addresses, or as exact as the spot’s GPS coordinates.

The tags can be made more attractive by adjusting the features of the text—to include position, size, font and style – and they can be made to be very aesthetically pleasing and fun to share on social media, or through email or text message.

So go ahead, take that photo of Butch “gettin’ it” on the dance floor, or that gorgeous sunset from the top of Mount LeConte before you bed down for the evening. Either way, the power is in your hands to tag quickly, to reserve your battery life, and put your time back into your hands. Being connected doesn’t mean you have to give up living in the real world, and TechCamera gives those precious moments back to the user.

TechCamera is available for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. It is optimized for iPhone 5, and requires iOS 7.0 or later. It is available in English, Dutch, and Spanish, and can be found for $1.99 in the Photo & Video category in the iTunes store.
